Delete Your Account

You can delete your Speechkick account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to do it and exactly what gets removed.
Delete your account from inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from the Speechkick app:
- Open the Speechkick app and sign in
- Tap the Profile tab
- Tap Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm when prompted
Your account is deleted immediately. You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen.
Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app — for example, you have already uninstalled it or cannot sign in — email us from the address associated with your account:
Include the subject line “Delete my account” so we can route the request quickly. We will confirm your identity using the email address on file and complete the deletion within 7 business days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the following from our systems:
- Your login credentials (email address and password hash)
- Your account profile (name, email, preferences)
- All child profiles you created (names, dates of birth, developmental stage, goals)
- All tracking and progress data (gestures, words, milestones, practice logs)
- Any notes or content you saved in the app
- Your push notification token and notification preferences
What is retained
A small amount of information may be retained for the reasons listed below. None of it can be used to access your account or contact you.
- Billing records: If you ever held a paid subscription, the underlying transaction record is retained by our payment processors (Apple, Google Play, or Lemon Squeezy) as required by tax and accounting law. We do not store payment card details.
- Anonymized analytics: Aggregate, anonymized product usage data (e.g. “how many users completed onboarding this month”) may be retained indefinitely. This data is not linked to your identity after account deletion.
- Communications: Emails you sent to our support team are retained per our standard support retention period (24 months) so we can reference prior conversations if you write to us again.
- Legal compliance: Any records we are legally required to keep (e.g. fraud investigations, court orders) will be retained only for as long as required by law.
Subscriptions
Deleting your Speechkick account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed through Apple or Google. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it separately to avoid further charges:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Speechkick
- Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Speechkick
- Web: Email support@speechkick.com
Children's data
Speechkick is designed for use by adults on behalf of children. All child profile information is provided by the parent or guardian. When you delete your account, every child profile attached to that account is deleted with it. You do not need to take any extra steps to remove children’s information.
This action cannot be undone
Account deletion is permanent. Once your data is removed it cannot be restored, and creating a new account in the future will not bring back your previous tracking history, milestones, or progress.
